Thank you for visiting Hilton Parish
HILTON PARISH COUNCIL
Hilton Parish Council (Dorset) lies in Abbey Ward and represents the communities of Hilton, Higher and Lower Ansty and part of Melcombe Bingham villages. Its westernmost boundary divides the village of Melcombe Bingham so that both Binghams Melcombe and part of Melcombe Bingham are in the West Dorset Parish Meeting of Melcombe Horsey.
Representing a rural parish Hilton Parish Council is keen to foster a close working relationship with its neighbours Melcombe Horsey and Milton Abbas. It is in the Dorset Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with much of the parish and surrounding countryside being a conservation area, its work focuses on the concerns of its rural community and sees the sustaining of its natural and cultural heritage as very important.
The Hilton & Melcombe Horsey Parish Plan provides further information about the parish as a whole and is available here.
The Natural World of Hilton Parish, written, adapted and edited by local residents Dee Stevens and Anna Davies and published on behalf of the Heart of Dorset Environment Group provides an overview of the landscape and natural environment of Hilton. Please contact the clerk if you would like to purchase a copy.
