COVID 19 - what we are doing

As the whole country heads towards a lock down, our community has responded to the Government's advice. People are taking sensible precautions. This includes community groups, such as the Gardening Club, cancelling their events.

The Parish Council meeting in April has been cancelled but Councillors are still working for the community. We will probably hold a virtual meeting in May and I'm looking into how we can do this as an 'open' meeting. (The rules about Parish Council meetings are designed for a world long gone and don't allow for digital engagement, which is ridiculous!)

George has set up a Facebook group so that people can volunteer to help elderly neighbours and others. There are also several WhatsApp groups that were already in place, which should make it easy for people to keep in touch. The village shop and post office are still open for business. The pub https://foxinnansty.co.uk/ (01258 880328) is open and offering a take away menu.

Please keep safe. COVID-19 is a new illness that can affect lungs and airways but medical advice is available from the NHS, https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/.
