Summary of the Meeting of Hilton Parish Council on 2nd November 2021 for Ansty, Higher Ansty and Melcombe Bingham and Hilton


Parish Councillors present: Justine McGuiness (Chairman), Catherine Langham, Shulla Jaques, Rodney Northover, Marion Walbridge. Cllrs Langham & Jones and unitary Councillor Jill Haynes by Zoom. Clerk: David Green


Parish speed surveys have been conducted and results are awaited. The Parish Council thanked Melcombe Horsey parish for its contribution to the cost of these.

The Chairman thanked the Village Hall committee for the refurbishment of the hall.

Planning: Application No: P/CLE/2021/02893 Hawkes Field Farm Hillside Hilton DT11 0DN - Certificate of Lawfulness to use land and buildings for parking of heavy goods vehicles and vans Hawkes Field

The Parish Council concluded that the continuous use for the premises over the last 10 years for these purposes had not been demonstrated by evidence submitted and raised an objection to this application.

Dorset Council planning have advised that ‘neighbour notices’ will no longer be posted unless required by legislation.

Precept – it has been agreed to raise the precept request to £ 5,612 to deal with anticipated cost inflation.

Queens Platinum Jubilee holiday – plans are well underway for the weekend including events at Hilton Church, the Old Brewery Hall and on the Green at Melcombe Bingham.

Highways - signage at the Devils Book ford has been examined by Dorset Highways and found to be satisfactory.

A new grit bin has been installed
